Welcome to FelipePolanco.com. My hopes of this website are to dispel any preconceived notions about fitness specifically and wellness as a whole. Too much emphasis is placed on limiting fitness to the confines of a big-box gym. I'm hoping to change that view; and if not change it, at least introduce you to other methods of wellness that are not necessarily new, but maybe just forgotten.
I will never suggest or claim to know all the answers. This journey is as much yours as it is mine. If you see a magazine article that just seems too good to be true or a new study that seems confusing, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer your question.
After two and a half years of training family and friends around my day job, I decided to become a full-time personal trainer in January 2009. I am currently certified as a Personal Trainer and am in the process of studying for certifications in Group Fitness, Kettlebells and Yoga.
I have experience working with a variety of populations, including post rehab clients and recovering cancer patients, but I most enjoy working with all levels of athletes performing sports conditioning and interval training. In addition, I would like to extend my training services to uniformed personnel: police departments, firehouses, and members of the armed forces.
My proudest accomplishments are completing my first duathlon in 2007 and completing a 3-day, 210 mile charity bike ride for the benefit of those suffering from Crohn’s Disease/Ulcerative Colitis. In September 2009, I achieved my greatest accomplishment to date: I completed the 24-hr Navy Seal Training Adventure Challenge, the closest you can get to actual BUD/S training!
